I’ve come here many times and haven’t had an issue here until this past weekend.
I will preface this review by stating that the main/head bartender (dark hair, glasses, very friendly) is lovely and always has been, and the drinks are always fire. Before this weekend I’ve experienced nothing but kindness from the staff here. My acquaintance used to be a manger here back in the day, hence our frequent visits to this establishment. We try to come after most of our big hikes, we love supporting local. The vibes are always great, our dog is always received with great joy and appreciation.
However, you lost business this weekend (and possibly forever) solely because of your (busser) and their despicable attitude. It had been at least ten minutes since our drinks were empty, the whole place was kind of dead so I was slightly confused by the delay. We see this staff member (younger girl, tall redhead with glasses) come out to the patio, she completely ignore us, and instead goes to pick up the dirty glasses at the only other table that was previously used. Since she’s incapable of acknowledging our existence for some unbeknownst reason, we decide to reach out to her, asking her for our hostess so we can order another drink.
My partner is the one who asked her; she misunderstands what he says at least thrice, asking him to repeat himself and chuckling to herself each time, insinuating that he has a speech impediment, which he definitely does not. It was as though she was on something. At this point the wind picks up and a decorative tree on the patio literally falls on top of me, not once, but twice. The worst part? The busser doesn’t do anything, but rather just stands there and laughs at me. At that point I am absolutely flabbergasted at the unprofessionalism and ask her to get our hostess to close out. Instead of offering to help or literally doing anything, your hostess watched me get attacked by your questionable furniture, and laughed while I was getting hurt by it. That is literally insane and I’m not too sure what would give me reason to return after being treated that way. Clearly a previous issue as there was a misplaced brick that I suppose was meant to hold the awry tree in place.
We definitely would have stayed longer and ordered at least another drink if not more. Regardless, the interaction completely soured our experience which is a bummer as we’ve been...
Read moreWe booked Spirit Hound for my son’s rehearsal dinner. We reserved the Tender Bar and patio for hosting dinner for about 60 people. It was a fabulous experience. Samantha and her staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. From the moment we walked up to the door, they just began helping with everything. We had decorations and boxes everywhere and they just jumped in and moved things and began helping put up the decorations and setting up food tables and making everything perfect before caterers and guests arrived. Once catering arrived they set up Additional tables and began serving their signature cocktails to everyone, which were fabulous! My granddaughter who is 9 —they made her feel so special and let her choose her soft drink adding cherries to the drink to make Her feel special and a part of the festivities. The bartenders even stopped and talked to her and asked how she was wearing her hair for the wedding and made suggestions for things to do with wildflowers, etc. they made sure She had a great time and felt special. They helped all the guests feel a part of things and took care of every request, including preparing a gluten free meal for one of our guests who had not let us know it was needed before the event. They helped with clean up and in every way made us all feel so welcome and made sure everyone enjoyed the night and had the best time. We could not have asked for a better experience. When it got really cold later in the evening, they allowed some of our party to filter over to the other side of the bar for space without hesitation. I cannot sing their praises enough. We had so much food left over and we’re happy to share it with Samantha and the staff because they did such an outstanding job. We tipped what is customary but my husband who never tips extra gave them an extra tip and another one of our guests gave them an extra tip as well. It was just that wonderful. If you’re looking for a place to host an event, or just for trying some signature drinks in Lyons, CO, you will love Spirit...
Read moreAt Spirit Hound Distillers, I was graced with a drink so divine it could only be described as a masterpiece. The coconut espresso martini, crafted by the incomparable Ian, is not merely a cocktail—it is an odyssey of flavor, a poetic blend that transcends the ordinary and touches the sublime.

This isn’t just a drink; it’s a sensory journey, an almost psychedelic experience that lingers on the palate like a cherished memory.
Ian’s skill behind the bar is nothing short of alchemical. He is a true artisan, a virtuoso who crafts each martini with the precision of a painter and the passion of a poet. His attention to detail and his relentless pursuit of perfection shine through in every drop. It’s as if Ian has unlocked a secret of the universe, one that he graciously shares through this impeccable creation.
To Ian, I raise my glass not just in admiration, but in awe of his craft. And to his mother, I extend my deepest gratitude, for she has given the world a mixology maestro who has forever changed the way I will view cocktails. Thank you, Ian, for this...
