This relic of the early 90s needs to be replaced by a modern bridge. The cost of maintenance alone is not justified in keeping it in place but the fact that it is not even the original bridge makes the historical aspect laughable. I love the charm and character this bridge brings to my area, but Smyrna residents are fed up with the lack of consideration our jurisdiction provides when scheduling repairs. Filling pot holes in 8am traffic and repairing guard rails at 5pm is a slap in the face. It’s a one lane road with 20 minute detours - the city planners team is causing more of a safety liability than the actual bridge itself.

Utility trucks, vans that transport ANYTHING on top, cars with roof carriers, Uhauls, tractor trailer, standard trucks with attached trailers carrying heavy equipment or wide loads WILL NOT PASS THROUGH.
