Silver Comet Trail is roughly 68 Miles long pedestrian and biker trail extending from Smyrna, Georgia a suburb of Atlanta to the Georgia-Alabama border. It was originally a railway that was converted few decades ago to a paved trail. Hence it is relatively flat with no steep ups or downs. In suburbs of Atlanta it is mainly shaded surrounded by trees though in certain segments it passes close to back yard of homes or even streets where you can here the noise of cars. In Atlanta metropolitan area it is relatively busy with many hikers and bikers. Along the way you find benches to sit on and take a break. Read moreI actually absolutely love this trail. I've been fortunate enough to live near an entrance. But there are so many in Marietta/Smyrna. The path is so beautiful and especially quiet and peaceful early in the morning (not at like 5 or 6am) but before 9am. It can be dangerous, so I've heard. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't be stupid (like being on the trail at 5 or 6 in the morning alone). Parking is always convenient. A word of caution, the weekends can get PACKED. Overloaded with bikers, not a bad thing - I've always found them to be very courteous - but it can get a lil tight for a walker. Overall a really great...
Read moreI really like the silver comet trail for bike riding!! for the most part about 75% of the rider understand the rules of the trail. 2 lanes one go's out, and the other comes in. stay with in your lane and not venture into the other lane.the belt line for example people in the city walk 3 to 4 people wide and talking on their cellphones!! People need to give distance from the center line so bikers, scooters, and other quicker moving people can pass. also riders need to give a warning of passing by saying " ON YOUR LEFT"!! if they do this at the belt line trail, it could be a more...
