Initially we have never been to this park. We happened to be in Macon, GA and decided to check it out. Luckly a very nice young lady (Tamara) allowed us to ride through to take a look without charging us. Beautiful day park and campground over looking the lake. We got the layout and Prices of the campground on the way out. We plan to come back soon with our RV. 2019 update...We have since camped here 3 times since my original review. Nice park overall, but unfortunately the bath house is in terrible condition. Be aware most of the sites are not level, so bring leveling blocks. We will still occasionally camp here. Love the Fish n pig restaurant on the lake, It's close to the entrance of this park. FYI...We got ate up by tiny black insects on site #45 by the lake. (August 2020) We couldn't figure out what they were, but we had bug spray on and I sprayed the grass with Ortho bug spray. Nothing helped. We had...

This could be a nice place but this park needs some serious TLC. I was appalled by the trash everywhere in the sand. While my kids played I was picking up trash the ENTIRE time. I found FIVE old nasty socks, straws, water balloons, an old bucket that's been there for who knows how long, cigarette butts, and other litter. While we were there the sand was being raked with a small tractor. But this area needs several people picking up trash for a morning not a simple raking of the sand. The playground area was better, not as much trash, but also needed weeding and new mulch. Also the life guard stands look like they need a paint job at a minimum and just make the place look unkept (which it is.) Overall it *would" have been worth the money to get in but I honestly don't know where the...

The CG can accommodate big rigs especially on the tip near the lake which are also satellite friendly too. Concrete pads and FHUs everywhere. Have stayed there twice and enjoyed both times. Has a competitive Frisbee Golf course that gets some attention during the summer. During the summer it stays full but during our December visit with good weather it had some weekenders but during the weekdays we had it all to ourselves and the turkeys that roam around in the mornings. Far enough out of town to enjoy some quiet at night but lots of boating action when weather permits. Easy trip into town. Recommend the Fish N Pig restaurant near the entrance.

The turn off of Thomaston/Mercer Dr onto Moseley Dixon is on a curve and easy to miss so keep an eye...

We had an absolute blast at this ‘hidden gem!’ The cost to enter was only $3 and kids 6 and under get in free! There were several lifeguards on duty and the vibe was phenomenal! Tents are welcome and the bathrooms were somewhat tidy! Parking was convenient and there was even a playground area for the kiddos! Trash cans were throughout the premises and there was even a sno come food truck on site for a few hours! The only downfall was having to get out of the water at 6:00 PM and the site closes at 8:00, but overall this was a wonderful family outing! I highly recommend giving this place a visit! You won’t be disappointed!
