A Central Ohio Metropark with plenty to do! There are 9 trails to choose from, ranging from a 0.3-mile trail to Buzzard’s Roost Lake to a 2.1-mile trail (exclusively for horseback riding). Most trails fall between 1 and 2 miles, with varying difficulty levels. There are even a few 'easy' ones, like the 0.3- and 0.5-mile trails. And don't forget about the pet-friendly trail! Other activities include horseback riding, day camps, picnic areas, and fishing. The coolest thing I saw at this park was the fishing locker at Buzzard’s Roost Lake—if you don’t have fishing gear (pole, line, etc.), you can borrow some from the park during your visit. Another great feature of this park is the abundance of picnic tables. I could definitely see hosting a get-together here. There are restrooms by the picnic area next to Buzzard’s Roost Lake. All-in-all, Slate Run is a fantastic park with multiple ways to enjoy your day.

This park is wonderful. A nice playground with some big shade trees for the kids, a large shelter house for parties/get togethers, large open areas for things like frisbee, football, etc., the farm, and so many other areas to explore. My favorite is the hilly trails. They are shaded quite a bit and wonderful for running tha is to some of the tough hills. The temperature is always a bit cooler on this trail which is nice for some summer hikes/runs. There never seems to be too many people here which I find great. It's never really crowded which makes it super peaceful. It definitely helps that it's not near super populated areas. Its quiet throughout the park too! If you enjoy going to parks, hiking, running, fishing, peace and quiet, or just being outside, I suggest stopping by this park sometime. Its definitely worth stopping by!

Absolutely gorgeous park. We did the Kokomo Wetlands Trail, which is stunning. Very well mowed and marked grass and boardwalk trail. Parking lot is paved with plenty of spaces. There is a picnic shelter area. A couple outlooks right near the parking lot looking over ponds. The trail itself offers lots of water views. The boardwalk is also over water and has a couple areas with benches. Relatively flat trail with only a couple inclines. We also went to the playground area on the other side of the park. Huge shelter there with restrooms nearby. Tons of benches and a few bird feeders for those who like to bird watch.

I love bringing my children here and letting my oldest fish. We always catch something here! Theres huge bass, catfish, bluegill, sunfish, and if I'm not mistaken theres gars in here too! Over 30 pounds! I saw two flop out in the water and make the biggest splash. I would love to catch one of those. I'm sure it would break my kids pole in half though lol it's very relaxing as not many people are here. Has a nice playground, and if you can at a good time the farm will be open and they have a new baby calf that's very friendly, sheep, turkeys, horses. It's a beautiful park to visit. I have yet to run into any problems

Wonderful park that offers a large variety of activities. Lots of parking, handicap accessible, multiple play areas that appropriate for a variety of ages, multiple trails (gravel, dirt, and paved), a covered bridge. A huge bonus is the farm! This is a great way to spend an hour or two. You can walk through the house, and it’s very educational for children and even teenagers. They set up activities sometimes too! Many animals to see - cows, horses, pigs, ducks, turkeys, and even a farm cat they recently added. Highly recommend this park!

Such a gem in a great location. Part of the Slate Run metro park. Step back in time to farm life as it was known in the 1800's. You can tour the farm in your own and check out pretty much any area on the grounds. The house is open as well as all of the barns. Often, you are able to pet many animals including the horses, cows, sheep and pigs. Check the website for a schedule of educational events held here. I have been visiting since my kids were babies. We truly do love this place.
