Lake Monona — Attraction in Madison

Great lake to love. We have been coming to this lake 30 years. Yes, the housing around it has blossomed.. but it is still GORGEOUS! My inner mermaid relaxes with ever sway of the boat. Some people kindly or at times nastily like to point out that this is where Otis Redding's plane crashed. It is true. As a child, my parents too were killed in an airplane crash but it was on land. As an adult, I look around this majestic lake and think what a beautiful place for a spirit to be. If Otis is still here as some believe, he probably thinks so too. We will never know. If you need to find inner peace, give this lovely lake a float. Fishing is usually pretty good too! Oh and OTIS I hope you found my sons favorite baseball cap down there somewhere, it's the one with purple checks and a big fish hook! It's a great place to fish but watch out for the the mosquitoes they're really bite more than the fish.. oh yeah here's a good tip I know anybody that go out there and get that mosquito repellent deep would you wouldn't have to keep on spraying it on you just to keep the mosquitoes off you but the big temp is get you some mouthwash not the generic but the real mouthwash Listerine not the deep sea with the regular Listerine that will keep the mosquitoes from biting you all day long I don't know what it is about that Listerine but if you don't believe me try to mosquito repellent it wear off you can you use the Listerine watch and see that you would not get bit by mosquito from the time you start fishing the time...

Overall, my bike ride along this trail was pleasant and I am definitely planning to do it again. I'm a leisurely biker, and for me this trial was well marked, popular among other cyclists, and not very busy as far as cars go. There's also a few rest areas in parks a little off the trail. I stopped in Winnequah park to get water and use the restroom, and it was decent. The views and neighborhoods that are along this trail are gorgeous...
