Crystal Lake — Attraction in Mammoth Lakes

This review is for Crystal Lake Trail which was a 3.2 miles round trip that took 2 hour to complete.

This was one of the more strenuous hikes in Mammoth Lake due to the continuous incline to the top with an overlooking view of Lake George and Lake Mary! Trail can be difficult to follow in some areas. Best view of Crystal Lake would be on the right before you follow the trail to the left. Crowded with limited parking available.

Easier than you think for the elevation and position of the lake- be really mindful on trail finding, though- there are literally dozens of opportunities to get off trail, cut trail, or otherwise do damage to the environment if you’re not paying attention. This hike was beautiful and gives you a great view of several lakes! A bit of a challenge if you aren’t a hiker due to the incline and elevation. At times the trail can be a bit confusing due to other paths formed off the main trail for view points. Crystal lake is stunning! Would definitely...
