Beautiful tranquil place to visit. We visited the north end at first and took the board walk to the viewing area. The volunteer there had a telescope set up and let us view an osprey nesting with her chicks, which were on one of the tufa towers in the lake. The volunteer was very friendly and informative. Then we went to the south side of the lake and took a little swim in the lake at Navy Beach. The water was very slippery feeling and of course very salty. Be very careful not to get in your eyes or if you have any cuts on your skin. Would like to come back again sometime at night for star...

Beautiful free county facility. Great birdwatching, with a boardwalk out to Mono Lake. No Lake access though, it's marshy. Modern playground and picknik tables scattered around large shady, grassy areas. Popular wedding venue. Highly recommend a pit stop here, very peaceful. (Just watch the kiddos, a lion and a mama bear frequent the willows.) Edited June 2025. The Inn fire burned through the grounds here, destroying most of the willows and many of the old cottonwoods. The restrooms were untouched. Parts of the boardwalk burned. It will bounce back better than ever and the cover for the...

Beautiful park in a beautiful setting. Quiet and very well manicured. Tables, playground equipment , walkways all very well maintained. Restrooms were some of the best we have ever encountered at a public park, clean and well supplied. The boardwalk takes you to the edge of the water up close and personal with the columns of minerals left behind after the water level dropped when water was diverted to supply Las Angles some years ago. Nice bench seating on the walkway at the end. This is a must see if you're going to be in the...

We have driven past Mono Lake several times but never stopped. Today, the visibility of lake water from the freeway drew us to this lush oasis. Sprawling Mono Lake Park is immaculately maintained. Enormous trees offer welcome shade. There's a tiny brook in the center of the park that adds delightfully ambient sounds. The level footpaths and the boardwalk leading toward the lake provide easy access for all. We found Mono Lake Park to be a refreshing, worthwhile stop.

TIPS to Consider: Have the family read about Mono Lake to make connections with it's natural awesomeness and importance to the universe. Use Google lens to learn about leaves, plants and trees only common to thus area. The park has extraordinary photo-ops and you may see dear. Bathrooms were clean (in November). Visited for 2 hours, the only family on-site. There is a small kids playground to let out their energy.
