Part of the Piscataquog Rail Trail, its a park 🏞️/football 🏈 and baseball fields. Parking 🅿️ available. It may become full during a game. The rail trail is plowed during the winter 🥶. Signs, no pun intended, of vandalism at the park. Illegal dumping of tires and propane tanks in a pond behind one of the baseball fields. Update: March 2023; A series of trails connect to the baseball ⚾ fields where one leads to Kelly's Falls. That trail accesses a bridge to another trail on the other side of the river. The area at Kelly's Falls is is pitiful! Trash and graffiti are everywhere! Parking at the Kelly's Falls end 🔚 is confusing. You are right next to the ⛸️ West Side Ice Arena but there are "No Parking" and private parking signs. I have parked there without any issues. Update: September 2023; There was a public event to clean up around Kelly Falls and to remove the trash from abandoned homeless encampments.

Fantastic little park. Well kept fields, access to the river, and quant hiking trails. There’s no playground equipment for kids, but I suspect that may be a reason that foot traffic is low resulting in this park, and the playing fields, being particularly well kept. It’s a nice and quiet location to walk around and unwind, let children or the dog play/run, toss around a ball, have a picnic, cool off in the water, fish, or hike one of the wooded trails. Some people shamefully leave their dog’s poop in the ball parks and walk ways while visiting; I hope the city doesn’t crack down on dogs in this park for the rest of us who do pick up after ourselves. Maybe dog waste bag dispensers with bags would encourage others to clean up after themselves. Who knows, might be worth a shot. Overall, don’t let something that small prevent you from taking some time to enjoy life while out and about here.

Cool hiking spot. You wanna wear long sleeves cuz it's buggy. You wanna be ok with getting your shoes and pant legs wet cuz it's the water is worth it. You'll get lost in time so plan for 2 hours. Brush your dog down for ticks when you're done crushing it. Homeless ppl live in the deep woods so don't get too adventurous if that bothers you. But they're not homeless if they live in the woods now are they? Leave em alone.
