It’s the first time I am in Vermont, and I regret the detour. I had a disappointing experience especially here because: It’s way over priced. A car of 4 would be normally be charged 35 dollars! If you don’t think that’s much, be reminded that entry to the world-famous Yellowstone only costs $35. And whose genius idea was it to charge not only by vehicle but also by person? The weather on mountain top was bad the day we came. It was in deep fog and we didn’t see anything except some eerie looking mannequins. No food, no view, just fog and mannequins. My point is that the staff should have warned us about the weather, I see that they have surveillance cameras on mountain top so she knew how it looked like, but instead she insisted on charging us money just to let uns drive miles uphill to see nothing. So greedy! I would not recommend it to new drivers or if your car is auto transmission. It is very steep, narrow and dangerous road and it WILL wear down your brake when you come down. I have seen smoke coming out of man’s car. Again the staff should have warned man in a more clearly way about the risk but instead they only give you a stick note sized paper and it says: do not ride on your brake. Who even know what does that mean? That’s all I could think of now, will add later... Allgemein gesagt: sehr schlecht und...
Read moreYou need to check in at the gift shop to purchase a token to open the gate before driving up the road. There is a driveway to the right of the gift shop leading to more parking. The road is nice with multiple spots to pull over and enjoy the view. The building at the top is open to the public. The left and right side of the building have balconies on the 2nd floor offering a higher unobstructed view. There are table's inside to sit at. There's also picnic tables outside to use if you like. Behind the building there is a trail you can explore. On the ride down I would recommend pulling over to let your breaks cool. The road is quite steep, even in low gear you gain...
Read moreBreathtaking views from the top of Mt. Equinox. The drive up and and down was easy. Take your time to stop at the different pullout by the side of the road. It was an overcast day so not much one can do about that. If it would have been clear, the view would have been even better. The building is well laid out, clean and easily accessible for all. This was well worth the $25 to pay at the entrance. The gift shop at the bottom had a nice selection as well as friendly and helpful attendees. If you are in the area it is an absolute must see. I will be back on a day with...
