I recently spent the day kayaking at Lake Marburg in Codorus State Park, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The water is incredibly clean, clear, and calm, making it ideal for a chill kayaking outing. I felt very at ease navigating the lake, and I was impressed by how respectful other boaters are when out on the water. Everyone seemed to be aware of each other, which made for a very relaxed and enjoyable experience. The boat launch area is a little tight, but it's very easy to use, and there's plenty of space for getting in and out. Additionally, people here are patient and kind when it comes yo waiting their turn to use the launch ramp, which adds to the overall positive experience. The park also has several other smaller kayak launch sites. Once you're on the water, though, it’s a whole new world. The lake is very spacious and there are several little coves scattered about that are perfect for anchoring and having lunch, and there are also small sandy banks where you can beach your kayak and take a break in the shade. It’s so peaceful to just relax and enjoy the surroundings while having a snack or even a full picnic. The beachy areas are also dog friendly, which is an added bonus! The park itself is incredibly well-kept. Trash cans and doggy waste stations are conveniently located throughout the common areas. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, and the backyard areas are free of trash. It’s obvious that a lot of care goes into maintaining the grounds, from both staff and visitors. It really adds to the overall charm of the place. The abundance of wildlife is a major highlight too — we saw everything from herons to deer. It’s so nice to be surrounded by nature, and it feels like a real escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Parking is very easy, with plenty of space for trailers, and the bathrooms are just a short walk away from the launch area, which is always a huge plus. Whether you’re a serious kayaker or just looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy nature, Lake Marburg is perfect. The whole experience is stress-free, enjoyable, and filled with beauty. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a serene and scenic day on the water!

Definitely fun for the whole family, from fishing and hiking to boat rentals and pontoon rentals. Plenty of docile wildlife.
