My daughter had her wedding at the senators mansion this past weekend. While the mansion is beautiful and it is a unique wedding venue that allows for a gorgeous setting and a beautiful back drop for great pictures, we were highly disappointed with the way the sight was managed. The location of the reception was the carriage house and it was freezing cold no heat had been turned on and the heaters that were could not get the building warm. My daughter was told that she would have procure more heaters. One would think that if a facility was not equipped to keep its guests warm then management shouldn't even consider renting it out in the winter months. It was so bad that guests had to wear their coats during the reception. The chairs that were set up for us to use were disgustingly filthy. When this was brought to the attention of the owner, we were told to pick out the worse chairs and pull them out and she would replace them with others and then she would try to clean some of them off. They were all very dirty...... they were covered with mildew and spilled food and drink from previous events.....one of them looked like it had vomit dried on it. The snow and ice were not cleared off and when we mentioned this to the owner all that was said was that "they are being treated". Also the parking area and walkway to and from the parking area were not cleared of snow and ice. My husband had to go and shovel the walkway to the building so no one would fall. The mansion itself is beautiful but it was dirty also. It looked like it needed a deep cleaning. There was what looked like dog hair on the area rugs and the floors looked like they had only been cleaned in higher trafficked areas....behind and around the furniture was thick with dust and cobwebs. The cleanliness of the bathrooms left much to be desired. The toilets had mold and mildew in them and the sinks were dirty as well. The people that were setting up the food said the cleanliness of the kitchen was very underwhelming as well. This place has incredible potential if only the management / owner would only raise their standards of service to much higher level. I would definitely NOT recommend this venue. Please save yourself a very large headache and pass...
Read moreHonest review from a wedding coordinator. This is a unique venue for events that has an eclectic feel. Touches of history everywhere. Antique photos & furniture are displayed throughout. Tucked away in a tiny town makes for a cozy, intimate event. The wedding I did here ended up being a snow-covered wedding and very cold, which created some challenges, but the staff was accommodating after we discussed our concerns. They were very good to work with! Ceremony and cocktails were held in the main house while the reception was held in the carriage house. (If it is winter, I do not recommend having anything in the carriage house, but maybe dancing. There is no water or bathroom access and limited heat, which makes food service difficult, and you must walk back across the street for the bathroom)This is a venue with lots of potential, though! I am anxiously waiting to see the photos from the photographer because the snow made it perfect. I believe this is their 2nd year in business. My only real suggestion is that the mansion needs a solid deep cleaning. The bathrooms were clean, but it needs a really good dusting and vacuuming all over. The chairs we used in the carriage house definitely needed a good scrubbing, but with the lights off, it was not as noticeable. All in all the wedding was beautiful and the bride and groom were happy which makes my job all the more fulfilling. I recommend anyone looking for a unique venue to check out The Senator’s Mansion and give...
Read moreI had the honor of DJing the Bridgerton Regency Ball this past weekend. Rebecca and Jesse were wonderful to work with, helpful, kind, and accommodating. Any couple would be lucky to get married or host their event in such a historic and magical place. The gardens are enchanting, the inside is gorgeous, and the atmosphere made the evening truly unforgettable. I would be thrilled to...
