Horrible, horrible service. Me and my buddy booked full day fishing trip trough Pirate's Cove Marina and paid for our part in full. We were adviced to arrive at 5:45 am at the marina, the boat was leaving at 6am. When we got there we met the other two guys we were sharing the charter boat with but there was nobody else there. We waited for the captain and his mate and when we realized that they are not coming we called tha captain directly, there was a phone number in front of his boat. The captain didn't pick his phone and we got directly to his voicemail and left a message asking if something happened delaying him. The captain called back in 5min and he was shocked and surprised that his boat was booked for a whole day fishing, he apologized and told us that he never got a call or email from Pirate's Cove Marina to inform him for the booking. At this point we realized that people at Pirate's Cove Marina took our money and didn't finish there's job to inform the captain. I live about 7 hours away and my annual fishing trip with my buddy was ruined. Same day around 8:30 am a woman called me from Pirate's Cove Marina to tell me that they will return my cost of the trip and when I asked her how was it possible for them to make such a horrible mistake she lashed out at me using vulgar language. She also tried to lie that the weather was the reason for the canceled trip not the fact that they didn't finish the booking by informing the captain of the chartered boat. I will never go to this Marina again. They have overpriced boat charters and rude and unapologetic employees. If you want to be super dissapointed and ruin your Outer Banks Vacation then you have to go to Pirate's...
Read moreCame here over the summer, just felt motivated enough now to leave review. This rating is for the reservation/help desk only as we never made it to the boat.
My father and I came here looking to book a charter for off-shore after seeing their flyers at a local bait shop and getting some positive feedback from a couple locals. The older women working at the desk seemed very agitated, and would only give us information on 'party boats' where we would fish sound or near-shore alongside 30 other people (including a bunch of young kids). Not exactly what we asked for... and this was the only option available according to the woman.
Also, the price seemed outrageous especially when we were told fish cleaning and crew tips were not included. For the price we were being asked to pay, it should include everything.
We left without booking here. There are other charters in the area that provide way better service, while charging...
Read moreGosh, just one of the best fishing centers on the entire east coast. Plus, it's an entire upscale housing/condo community that is also gated, and it's private, so you can walk around drinking and drink alcohol, which a lot of people and tourist do. People drive all around in their golf carts. There's usually a lot of activities, sponsors, music, food, sales tents, and so much entertainment and likewise that goes on here. All kinds of NATIONAL fishing competitions occur out of this Marina! It's a WoW place to come visit, rent a condo for a week, be a tourist, enter fishing competitions, ear at their restaurant, or buy a...
