Round-up Lake — Attraction in Mantua Township

Honestly it’s a fun place, beautiful area but if you’re tent camping on the weekend, go elsewhere, it’s a little disorganized in the tent area, not to mention it looks and feels like a California tent city once it gets busy, there used to be more open, private tent camping areas? What happened to those? Other than that if you camp during the weekdays it’s not as busy and you get a little more privacy. But lastly as fun as the lake was there really should be a lifeguard doing rounds or something, they occasionally go out to the jump park on the water whenever a reservation group is going out but any other time they’re in the life guard shack, we found out a kid drowned out there from local talk so you would think some things would have changed. Last year was amazing there, this year not so much. Ghetto and nasty now. Bathrooms were disgusting all the way around. Way over crowded ! Even a guywith a gun. Staff was not professional and life guards were playing on the phones, at the lake there was one life guard and he played on his phone. Later on a little boy drowned in that lake. Rip 🙏 my condolences to his family. If the life guards were around and actually paying attention they might have been able to save him. Completely disappointed in this camp ground . Was really disappointed this year we could no longer camp next to the tree line in the back. We were not prepared to be in the sun 24.7 the other drawback to only allowing field camping was the use of the pool bathroom. The only close restroom. There is only one available restroom there and it was dirty most the time even after scanning the qr code. I was also taken back by the new setup for things like the obstacle course personally I like being able to put my phone down for those days. Seems like you are incorporating the very thing most wanna help their family's put down. Besides these changes and the restrooms... we absolutely love coming; it's a good time...
