Dog Cholla Trailhead — Attraction in Manuel Benavides

Did this hike as a follow up to a hike in the National Park with lots of elevation the day before. If you stay on Buena Suerte Rd it’s kind of flat and boring. But if you do the 3 side loops ( dog cholla, Chrystal trail, & Rock Quarry) it’ adds elevation and some great views of the east side of Lajitas Mesa & Contrabando Mountain. Big Bend State Park is a must visit! This place is breath taking! Best views of the night skies, most amazing sunrise and sunsets. Views from anywhere in the park are gorgeous!
