Fish Lake Regional Park — Attraction in Maple Grove

I’d absolutely give 5 stars given this place is wonderful and I love coming here, however I’ve came to fish lake’s dog park multiple times in the last month or two, and I’ve paid for a pass once out of all of those times. I’ve drove up to the kiosk and let them know I was going to the dog park and would like to purchase a pass and they tell me I don’t need to pay, it’s free. Today we were stopped by a friendly male who was patrolling that said we are required a pass daily and the kiosk people are not required to charge us? Seemed a little sketch that the kiosk people have been telling us to just go in it’s free, and now have a patrol tell us otherwise. I’m happy paying, the price is reasonable for a day pass, but if payment is required I would much rather be told by the people authorizing us access instead of being told it’s free and then being stopped and asked. This thing made a smile form across my lips. I went here with my dog. My dog is pretty chill but I don’t think he knew where we were. I did because I am more conscious than him and seem much smarter than him. I also had remembered putting this park as a destination in my map and then driving there. I knew where I was the whole time , I doubt my dog did. Anyway, I went here to see if I could find a caterpillar and see if I could turn it into a moth or something. Like it represents my evolution that I have been recently experiencing in the kitchen. Well I found an inch worm. It was green , and sassy. I was not quite sure if it would evolve though. We love this park. Great place to walk to if you are local. Does not have fishy smell. I love lakes I hate smelling like dead fish. That was never a problem when we went. The water is warm, the umbrellas are nice. If you are looking for a great day at the beach this is a great choice. They also have rental equipment if you want to take a paddle boat or kayak out. They have concessions (I think). I remember seeing a sign for ice cream one of the times we went.

We are pretty simple so we would walk or bike to the lake so did not need a playground. So, if you are looking for a playground this does not have one. There is a dog park close to this area as well as a boat launch. I do believe I seen people letting their pups in the water or by the launch but should double check with park for...
