May 2025 : went for a walk over the weekend and got bombarded by mosquitoes in the parking lot, and had found 5-10 Lone Star Ticks on us before reaching the end of the trail, the ticks with the white spot. We stayed on the main path, no woods, no talk grass, and didn't even make it to the end without multiple ticks on us. So we turned around and walked back to the car. We were really bummed out.

Aug 2024 : It's a really beautiful sanctuary with a few trails. We enjoyed the whole area. They have benches in a few areas to sit and enjoy the views. We saw a couple of different animals and sounds of all the birds. We spent 1-2 hours enjoying the views. Small parking lot , but worth the trip. No pets allowed, definitely understandable. No restrooms. And there's a map at the beginning of the park that shows you the trails and where they are. We took a picture to help us decide the best path to take to...

Was very excited to checkout this “wildlife sanctuary,” with my dog, as we are always looking for clean and friendly place to walk. Checked out the website prior to going where I saw no posting about dogs not being allowed. Drove 40 minutes there to be chased down by some man telling us we had to leave because of our dog, who is 10 years old and doesn’t move faster than a snails pace was with us. I just truly don’t understand how you can call something a wildlife sanctuary and yet prohibit such amazing animals. There are postings and signs of foxes, deer and other animals that inhabit this land with the birds and yet we were told our leashes dog would stress out the birds. What about all the humans and little kids running around? Those don’t stress out the birds? And yet my calm loving ANIMAL cannot even be allowed out in nature with...

Used to be a good place to go, and I mean used to be. Trails groomed and mowed OK. Boardwalks are dangerous, broken boards, totally overgrown. Horrible run down maintenance. Forest Loop trail is never maintained. I am sick to death of the rainbow flag. Don't see what that has to do with Mass. Audubon. Offensive to me. Bird observation (2) sites filthy and poorly maintained. I understand and love the Barn Swallow nests in them BUT clean them out after the season. This place needs some money spending on it. Oh! And the new Rough Cut Splinter Fence at the Entry, great job for kids to get really hurt. What brainchild thought that one up? Fix it up or...

This was a great unplanned stop for bird lovers. We got there around 10:15am to find plenty of parking on the gravel lot. There are open grassland paths and covered, shady paths. Since it was getting warm quickly, we decided to go shady. We heard and saw so many birds, like the yellow throat, warblers, and wrens but then the mosquitoes came! Those things were out to get you for sure. Definitely our own fault for not wearing bug spray, but like I said, it was an unplanned stop. Still totally worth it. Once we hit the open meadows we were fine. Saw a few lifers, like the Bobolink and tree swallow. Really loved this place and I'm glad we had the adventure.
