Big Slackwater Boat Ramp — Attraction in Maryland

Besides the road to the ramp being narrow and windy, we find this to be one of the most accessible ramps in the area and one of the nicest. It is big enough and the water deep enough (average of 15-20 feet mostly) for larger boats. You can boat for miles upstream and for a short ways downstream....until you reach the dam. We have been as far upriver as the rod and gun club, but it does get shallow quickly past this, so we do not go much further as we have a 17 foot with an outboard motor. If there is not a lot of boat traffic, the water can be smooth as glass. We regularly see tubers and water skiers on the water. There are a couple of minimum wake zones. Great place to come with a boat 🚢 🙌 😀 or if simply want to have picnic there is tables and charcoal grills avalible also there is a route to walk on if you wish to. Saturday evenings plan 1 hour ahead at times there is a line to drop and pick up a boat some people can drop a boat under 2 minutes others can take 15 to 20 there for plan ahead only 2 boat ramps gets busy at times they do fishing competition that also may play a role in time.
