Update! We went back to Yaunkers Nature Preaerve this past Saturday. The green is coming up all over, the trails we chose was beautiful! My only issue was we keep running into dogs, and they are not leashed. The preserve is a wonderful WV spot, and I know those who care for it have their reasons for not allowing dogs. Please respect this. I would hate to see the preserve closed to the public because of a simple fee who refuse to respect this simple rule. It's a Narure Preserve, and its for the wildlife and their habitat. It's wonderful that they open it to the public. Please keep that in mind.

Well manicured trails, beautiful scenery , NO ANIMALS ALLOWED. NICE REST ROOMS AND LARGE PAVILLION FOR A PICNIC. GREAT FOR BEGGINERS AS WELL AS EXPERIENCED HIKERS. AMAZING VIEWS OF THE...

This is a very good place with varying terrain. Especially the cedar loop is good for people who are handicapped because it can accommodate a walker and has lots of benches and places to sit and it loops around and comes back out close to the parking area for a short hike. But then there's the kingfisher trail which is much longer and I believe it goes down near the Potomac River and there's some cool rock formations down near the river but be careful climbing down. And it's not so remote that you have to drive miles and miles to get to if you live in Berkeley county, WV. Good place to get exercise and fresh air. There is a pavilion and there is a restroom up near...

Well maintained trails with several unique spots to sit and relax that are attached to the main trial. The signs you can read along the way are actually really amazing. Gave me a whole new appreciation for the nature of our local area. Also found a few paw paw's along the trail! First time trying paw paws. Brought them home and they were amazing! Also, there is a fat squirrel who hangs around the bird feeder near gazebo at entrance. He is not the American Ninja Warrior he thinks he is. Probably too much success at getting that bird seed. Well worth the beautiful drive along WV backroads...

Nice easy trails. The outside trail loop, South Trail to Kingfisher Trail was about 1.5 easy miles that included plenty of shady spots to sit down and enjoy the sounds of nature. Besides the bird sound, there was absolute silence, no traffic noise at all. There was a somewhat limited view of the river through the thick foliage. The trails were very well marked and included interesting interpretive signage.

This is one of the best kept secret trails around here. It's quiet and not crowded at all. Maybe saw 3 people while out here. The trails are clean and very well marked. The longest trail is about 1.1 miles and there are shorter trails as well. It's a pretty easy hike for anyone just keep an eye out for rocks and roots in the ground. There are benches all along the way to take a rest and enjoy nature.

This place is awesome! What an excellent investment of resources. Educational opportunities for children, trails, spaces for composting, picnicking, you could host an event here and it is even handicap accessible! 100% love and am impressed. Will be back with the family during better weather. Apologies for the dreary photos but it was fun even on a kind of rainy, cold day.
