The Nature Center at Piney Run Park is super cute and well worth the visit. The walk to the center is easy to moderate, making it accessible for most visitors, and once you’re there, there’s plenty to see and do for both kids and adults. The building itself is air-conditioned (a big plus on hot days) and has a clean bathroom with running water.
Inside, the cozy lounge area sits in front of a wood stove. It creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes me want to come back and hang out in the winter. The Critter Corner was awesome—featuring a few reptiles and some interesting plants that capture the attention of the children and adults in pur group alike. There’s also a lost-and-found area, which shows how much the staff cares about visitors.
Seating is plentiful, with benches both indoors and outdoors, making it a convenient spot to enjoy lunch or just relax. The center also offers a steady lineup of upcoming programs and activities, so there’s always something new to experience.
