Nice little old fashion city park. We came off of Highway 36 East bound because of 40+ winds pushing our RV sideways. Google showed us the local camping opinions with the city park as the first choice. The location was easy to find. Off of 36, right onto 10th and down a few blocks. Past the railroad engine display and there you are on the right! The camping spots are gravel pads right off of the park road with electrical and access to portable water. There is 5 or so spots in the RV part of the park we were in, with a tent area around the corner, but best of all . . . No charge come on in! 5 nights allowed out of every 30 days and donations accepted to offset the cost of stay, electricity, water, close by flush toilets, tree-covered spots, walking trails, picnic tables and outdoor grills. And I can't forget the black squirrels. Apparently, they are quite rare and the park is their home. Marysville is protective of their town mascot and in 1977 passed laws against any harm done or intended against their black "Rockys". In fact we noticed several giant, black squirrel statues throughout the city. There is also the city pool, tennis courts, bandstand and an elaborate play area for the kids. Shopping and food are an easy 5 minutes walk away. This is a great little place and we were grateful for safe haven from the wind showing us who really ruled the road. In fact, within 1 hour 3 other campers/RVs joined us in our little haven. Thank you city of Marysville for your hospitality. You all are doing wonderfully with reaffirming American values.

We stopped at the park after checking out the Historic Trails Park, the Pony Express barn, and the Marshall County Museum. The kids loved the large playground. I liked that the park had a large number of benches situated around the perimeter. My favorite part was the use of recycled tires on the playground. We were also impressed by the tent camping and RV parking. Worth the stop.

Beautiful place and loved the black squirrels. There were only about 6 hookups if you have a big RV. We pulled in with a 36' converted bus and a car and fit fine. Gorgeous canopy of trees!! We were close to the bathrooms if you need those and plenty of places to walk. Plenty of park lights which made it safe in the evening. Donations accepted at the restroom drop box.

We hadn’t planned to drive this far in a day, returning from our trip, but we’re glad we did! We so appreciate that Marysville has made this camping available, especially since other campgrounds on US 36 were full. There are a few RV spots, with and without hookups and quite a few tents sites (some with electric!), all free. The park is lovely and clean, with plenty to do. We were able to get Pizza Hut delivery at the park, too! I was a little worried there would be noise throughout the night, but it seems that it’s just busy for awhile after dark, while people enjoy the cooler temps. The town is so cute, that we wouldn’t mind visiting for several days...

VERY grateful for quiet, level spot with electric hookups - 20,30 & 50 amps all available - update UNTIL IT’s ABRUPTLY TURNED OFF AT 2AM! Water too. Didn’t find or use showers - it was raining of course(our “luck” lately! After driving over 800 miles, too tired to go on, this park was heaven sent! Not many sites, I’d suggest you get here early evening to get best sites. UPDATE - at about 2AM electric ABRUPTLY GOES OFF!!! What the heck is up with that? No, not power outage, street lites on. Good thing it wasn’t stifling HOT fir July 15th😳😳😒 still will leave some green - but little less for no electricity...
