BITE ME BARBECUE & CATERING — Restaurant in Marysville

I placed an order online, was advised to pick it up between 11:30-11:45. I got there at 11:50 and was told "sorry, we are working on it. The person that was supposed to open called in sick, so we are way behind." I waited another 15 minutes before my carry out order was ready. I only had a 30 minute lunch break, and by this time, I had already used 20 of it. The older gray haired fella asked if I had paid ahead, and I said yes, I ordered online, and paid online. He replies" I wish we would just do away with that thing. We just don't have the staff to keep up with the darn thing". As soon as I got back to Community Memorial Hospital there in Marysville, (as I was working at an outreach Cardiology clinic from Pioneer Heart Institute, Lincoln, I unpacked our food and opened my Pulled Pork Nachos. They were NOTHING like the description gave. The menu states " shredded cheese, pulled pork, lettuce, black olive, sour cream. My order had stale chips, drenched in Nacho Cheese, pork slopped on top with salsa dumped over it. I called Bite Me BBQ back, spoke with Haley who stated she was the one who prepared our order. I asked her about the Nacho plate and explained that it was totally wrong, and I wanted a refund. Haley said" well, I am new here and I didn't know they were supposed to come with all that stuff, but I will call the owner, or "my boss" and let him know the situation. I don't see a problem getting you a refund. Are you still in town? What time could you stop back by our store? I told her I would be glad too after the clinic, about 3 pm. Then, Haley called me back and said she spoke to the boss or the owner, and he said he will only give me a refund if I can bring the food back down there right fast, or I can bring it later at 3, but they will need it all back before they can make it right. Really? They just wasted 25 minutes of my 30 minute break, the clerk tells me she is new and isn't sure how to make it correctly, but they want me to bring the food back before they can refund my money? I took my nachos back to the store, and the old gray haired man was very, very rude. Said, "Normally I would refund the money back on your card, but I have no idea how to do that, so you are getting cash. 8 bucks, there ya go, you satisfied? I asked him about any coins, I did pay tax on the nachos, and the clerk said "NO, 8 $ nacho plate, that is all you get! You don't get any tax back on that!" So, fair warning to ANY person traveling through or from out of town...there are SEVERAL other establishments in town that are AMAZING..I encourage you to keep on driving right past Bite Me BBQ and find El Ranchero, or the Wagon Wheel on Broadway is AMAZING!! Really, Bite me BBQ doesn't deserve 1/2 star for quality or...

Im sorry to be brutally honest but was probably some of the worst bbq ive ever had. Came in at noon. Got the three meat platter the smoked mac and cheese. $17 -Burnt ends were more like overcooked ends with no char/sauce let alone seasoning or flavor. Brisket I'd give a 2.5/10. Extremely overcooked no bark/flavor/seasoning. Pulled chicken was more like dehydrated chicken breast. Actually spit out the one bite I took. Smoked mac was probably the only thing I remotely ate. Only problem was the overwhelming smoke flavor. Probably had more smoke flavor than the meats. Was honestly too smoky.

I give this review in the most honest constructive criticism not to bash anyone. I really hope this prompts some improvements. I really hate to see mom and pop shops shut down and only hope for the...

First and foremost Shout out to Torey who made it very Easy to Pick out the best selection of food & for constantly checking on me to make sure my needs were met.

The STL Ribs - 5 Stars Cooked Perfectly, fall off the bone, great flavor, great sauce on the side, not caked up with rub it was delicious!

The Brisket Out of this world, thinner then usual Slice personally but it brought out the flavor & it was melt in Your mouth even Lean!

Pulled Pork was a little dry but the flavor was there & there Mild Sauce definitely made it Good!

The Coleslaw was Very good.

The Smoked Mac & Cheese was delicious did not even need to add Salt & Pepper.

Ill have to stop by again another Day, Thank You for having a Wonderful Place in a wonderful small midwestern...
