If you are considering doing anything adventurous on Maui, this is one of the first places to start! From the time you arrive, you will know that you made the right decision. The staff are courteous, friendly, and very informative. Every staff person that we encountered were born and raised on the island. It was evident that each of them tried their very best to make sure our entire group had a great time.
Admittedly, I was nervous because I had never done anything like this before. However, from the very beginning, the staff made me feel very comfortable. They provide you with a brief training exercise before you even get started.
Once you venture up the mountain, the views are simply spectacular. One of the best things about the zip line is that you don’t just get one line, you get a total of seven. So you get to see different views from the mountain. At one point, we could see the entire island from one side of the ocean to the other.
Now about the lines. This is the longest zip line course in the world, and line number seven is the third longest zip line in the nation. The lines are absolutely thrilling. They take you over peaks and valleys with views that cannot be described.
The guides were very knowledgeable about the land and were clearly very experienced in the field of zip lining. I felt completely safe the entire time. Not only that, we were able to ask them questions and get great tips for the rest of our stay.
Beyond riding the zip line, you also get to ride in a four-wheeler up and down the hill. This was actually a very cool part of the experience! The staff provide you with all the snacks and water you want along the way. They even give you a nice surprise at the end!
Do not worry about the cost of this adventure. It is absolutely worth it, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like to spend money. LOL. This was one of my favorite parts of my 10-day stay. It was also a wonderful experience to share with my husband.
As you can see, we are not the only five star review. One last thing I would like to share is that this company truly cares about the land of Maui. They talk on the trip about how they are on a mission to preserve the land. This was another reason I really enjoyed the zip line and felt like my money spent was going to preserve something beautiful rather than just going to another...
Read moreThis was a fantastic experience! The guides are wonderful, the course is amazing and everything was done with the utmost in safety and professionalism. Our guides Matt, Ty and Jasmine made us feel welcome, were exceedingly personable and were obviously interested in making sure we had a great time. This course incudes the longest line in Hawai'i and the third longest in the world at nearly 2/3 of a mile, and it was well worth the money. A couple of tips: --Bring a small, inexpensive camera with a sturdy wrist strap. Unlike some other tours, these guys won't try to hawk an expensive picture package at the end and you won't want to risk carrying your smart phone for pics and video. --It's really windy! If you have long hair, you'll prefer to pull it into a pony or braid but remember it has to fit into your helmet. --The 250# weight limit is both for your harness safety and your ability to trek up the hills from line to line. Although not far between platforms, the paths can be VERY steep with soft terrain, and if you're big and out of shape like me they can be daunting. There IS a fair amount of physical exertion so be prepared!! If you're not sure, DO IT. You don't get opportunities like this in life very often so you have to seize them when...
Read moreMy husband Tony and I went zip lining with Flyin Hawaiian last week on our vacation. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the ziplining is sooo much fun but the tour guides is what helped make our experience over the top!! Awesome sense of humor, they kept everyone smiling and laughing the whole time, great professionalism and knowledge of their land and zip lining..I felt super safe in their hands and also learned a TON about Maui' history along the way. They were always offering to take photos for us and offered great info on other cool spots to see while in Maui. What made this company even sweeter--the owner bought the land the lines are on to preserve the natural Maui, to avoid development and ultimately destruction of the West Maui Mountains. The zip lines were created to help preserve and give back, part of your admission goes right back into the land, halfway through your zipping experience you stop to water Hawaiian hibiscus plants that were planted by the land owner to help bring these endangered plants back to the island. Way to go guys! Even though we have already seen the views and experienced the zip lines my husband and I will most definitely return to Flyin Hawaiian just for the...
