Be sure to stop by the visitors center first. Free to visit and they supply you with binoculars and a bird identification sheet.We went during off season so there weren't as many birds, but it was still a nice walk. If the water level is high, be prepared to get a little wet if you want to walk all the way...

Went their for a field trip. It was awesome! sometimes the road to the pond is flooded so you have to balance on concrete blocks it was like an adventure! Plus, the birds there are cute! I recommend this place for tourists and I do not recommend littering in the habitat of endangered...
