Playa California — Attraction in Maunabo

California Beach is a surfing spot best suited for Bodyboarding. Best time to surf it is usually in summer when tropical storms pas by the southeastern part of the island. This beach I don’t recommend for swimming because of very strong currents that take place there. The beach has no life guards and the nearest hospital is about 35 minutes away in car, so it’s not a place to go and take your kids unattended at the shore. If you’re a experimented surfer and love pounding shore breaks you might enjoy this beach.
