This was the first beach we visited in PR and although the waves are a bit harsh, I loved that it was secluded, peaceful and full of coconut palm trees. My husband had the time of his life drinking coconut water and my boys played for hours in the water and ran after crabs.

Espectaculares vistas y una arena limpia con un mar y una luz que quitan el aliento. Llegar es fácil y quedarse mucho más por lo delicioso que es estar en este paraje. Algunas casitas tras las palmeras le dan un toque pintoresco al sitio … solo llegas por la carretera de Maunabo a Patillas directo… cuida no tirar basura y dejar limpia la playa por favor. Este lugar es un tesoro de Puerto Rico y debemos protegerlo . Anidamiento de tortugas!!

California Beach is a surfing spot best suited for Bodyboarding. Best time to surf it is usually in summer when tropical storms pas by the southeastern part of the island. This beach I don’t recommend for swimming because of very strong currents that take place there. The beach has no life guards and the nearest hospital is about 35 minutes away in car, so it’s not a place to go and take your kids unattended at the shore. If you’re a experimented surfer and love pounding shore breaks you might enjoy this beach. Remember to never leave any trash behind because theirs no trash cans around and people actually live right...
