Took a day trip to Vashon Island to see “Oscar” The Bird King and I absolutely loved it. The ferry ride was short but was still a lot of fun. It’s about a 6 mile drive to the ferry to the park. There are tons of farms and other places that have little booths along the way, they offer a variety of homemade items for sale such as jams, syrups, flowers and even popsicles. The park was well kept and there was ample parking. There were many different trails for various area in the park, as well as numerous picnic tables in different areas. There no restrooms but they did offer Porta potty’s. We went to see Oscar The Bird King which is a troll that is constructed in the park for a limited time by artist Thomas Dambo. This amazing troll is one of six here in the Pacific Northwest and is made of nothing but recycled materials. Seeing Oscar is free, however if you don’t live on Vashon Island you do have to pay for the ferry ride. Overall I loved this day trip and recommend it to everyone!! I personally can’t wait to take another day trip to visit another of...
