We originally stopped by this park a few weeks ago to ask if there was good fishing. The employee in the kiosk said yes there was descent fishing there at the park and that they had been catching ling cod off the rocks at wedding rock during low tide. So we planned a day trip to go back to Patrick's Piont State Park for today, to go fishing. We got there, paid the day use fee. They handed us a map and a receipt for the window. We finally found the spot we had been scouting out on the internet for several days, but the photos were completely off. The photos were taken during high tide instead of low tide. The area was so extremely dangerous. And hardly any walking space on the trail. Maybe if your an extreme athlete you could get to the water. We walked down the rim trail to the right first, toward the water violently taking the tide from the bouldery shore. Yes a good place to dish most likely, but absolutely suicidal if your going to try to have enough time to beat the hurrying back incoming tide. Then we decided to head up away from the soon to be fast flooding water, after only a cast or so. We got up to Wedding Rock. It was even more deadly. It was so high up and the drop offs that we're not guarded were far too extremely accessable to just simply wandering a few steps off the trail. The drop offs weren't simple drop off either. The cliffside was actually inverted underneath the rock they built this look out on. The drop is several stories down at least to a horrific rocky ocean shoreline. There would be no surviving for any living creature of any species that fell from anywhere on this attraction. It was wrong to think that we could take a small child to this place. And even numerous adults might want to steer clear from here. I would never take another person to this place that wasn't physically able, sound mind and body, or mature enough to be cautious and well aware of their surroundings. That was just the fishing experience. We went back to the kiosk to find out how to get to the aget beach. We let them know that they should not have directed or suggested to anyone to go where they had advised us to fish when we had stopped for information the previous time. They said the beach we we're looking for was on the other side of the park and down another 1/2 mile cliffside trail. While we we're stopped there we noticed the WARNING sign. The warning sign was for mountain lions spotted in park. This sign is not on the entrance side of the park, but poated on kiosk in average size on the exit of the park. And no one that works their brings any attention to this when you pay the fee to enter the park. We didn't get to fish, and we didn't get to go agett hunting. There are narrow roads to drive on in the camp ground that children also play on and almost witnessed a few get hit by the park employees themselves. It wasn't a good experience, too much misinformation. And it's not a safe or smart place to take small children, or anybody that you might have to worry about being silly or absent minded. There are lots of other, nicer, safer places much similar with friendly intelligible employees. I don't advise anyone to waste your time or money at Patrick's Piont State Park. And if you do go and take small children, DO NOT TAKE YOUE EYES OFF THEM FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME NOT EVEN A HALF A SECOND!!!!!!! !!!!!MOUNTAIN LIONS TERRITORY AND DEADLY OCEAN...

Have been camping here since 1991. The people at the front have been friendly but the girls are genuinely concerned about helping make one's stay a positive experience. Not all the boys are unfriendly. This years crews were towards the top in service. Outdoor activities for all ages. The nightly campfire programs were much better in the past. Harder to find people who know anything about the park, Yurok Tribe, ocean, fish, animals & geology. Those who knew have died off or haven't been contacted. Care of shows & restrooms has been sporadic over the years. Know most of the problems come from the State Legislature, Govenor's office. An attempt to pave some of the roads was made this year, but funding was not their. Much of the broken restrooms are cause by people who have, " NO", respect for property, humans or themselves. When they are on drugs or alcohol they are nuts! Weed has not made one's stay pleasent either. Get sick from it's smell where ever it is. Nature is the beautiful part of the park. Keeping access for public is a monumental job by its self. This year was not the best visit. Will keep coming hoping the State will spend more on the park instead of Brown's super train to nowhere, that only state workers will afford to use. Similar to the problems with the Oroville Dam. The Governor claims the State had a 8 billion dollar surplus before a budget was even proposed. The State Treasure never said a word about it. I could go own but the communist state government doesn't pay any attention to the...

Sue-Meg State Park is a fantastic gem on the California coast. With a quick walk down to the beach which includes 62 stairs. The stairs are well maintained and the route to the beach is pretty easy on the way down. Of course, on the way back it is a bit more effort to ascend back up the hill. The same 62 stairs are waiting for you. The 62 stairs are the total count of the stairs on the route to agate Beach. The 62 stairs are not consecutive and are actually broken up into three groups. When you add up the stairs in these three separate groups, you have a sum of 62 stairs. A small price to pay for the astounding views in unending beauty that will be found at egger Beach. Sue-Meg State Park also has many other hiking trails throughout the grounds and back and forth toward the beach itself. The campgrounds are well maintained and the camposts are always fantastic and ready to help when they can. The cabins that are on site and rentable are fantastic. With simple amenities like heat, you realize that is all you really need. Don't forget to bring yourself some bedding and possibly an air mattress as the beds and bunk beds do not have mattresses. Plenty of wildlife around and during my time there a cougar was spotted in the evening hours not too far from our camp. The state park has many signs in place stating the fact that cougars are around and to keep an eye...

I was really lucky to catch such an amazing sunset. I can’t believe how clear the sky was! Follow the rim trail through the cool looking tunnel like tree branches at sue meg state park aka patricks point. Looks like a nice spot for local college students. #suemegstatepark #humboldt #humboldtpark #humboldtcounty #humboldtstate #california #northerncalifornia #westcoast #CapCut
