Nice gem of a brewery! The disc golf course is mostly par 3’s and some tight drives, but it’s still a solid, fun, challenging course.
The beer selection was excellent. Lots of options from IPAs to Witbiers to Stouts/Porters.
The downsides to the place is it seems mostly outdoors for seating and only two individual gender neutral bathrooms; the bathrooms are very clean though:). On weekends when events are happening, you’ll likely have to park in the grassy area down the hill. They do have good spots up front for handicapped and even a few spots marked “for people with mobility issues” which 3 of those spots were open despite a full house (patrons are respectful!).
It’s was breezy, clear skies and 75 degrees out when we went. Hopefully that didn’t jade my review too much. And we were at a charity event with maybe 100 people there for that event. I plan to go back despite 30 minute drive from Durham. 5-stars as it’s a business I can truly appreciate the effort and the employees...
Read moreWe finally made it out to Steel String at Pluck Farm to play disc golf and check out the brewery. The brewery doesn't have any deglutenized beer, sadly, but they do have Florida Seltzer and some wine options.
The disc golf course itself was pretty good, for the 9 holes they've built so far. The course designers were out here today working on finishing the back 9 to make it a full 18. While the course isn't finished yet, what they do have is awesome. The course is really well laid out and we loved that we could drink beer from the brewery while listening to live music from the band playing outside while we played the course.
They also have nice indoor bathrooms for those of us that really appreciate those. And they're dog friendly. Really cool spot to check out if you're ever...
Read moreThis place was a surprise on my trip down to Haw River Kayaking. It was the perfect place to stop with my beer drinking parents to have post river float beer and snack. Plenty of place to sit to have beer and they had an amazing food truck serving vegan options. The man working the taps was incredibly friendly and attentive. They had plenty of water to stay hydrated on the hot day, with fans attached to the sitting area. The grounds are gorgeous to walk and let your dogs run (within the grounds). I also love that they're a "living wage" company and had no problem adding on extra to support the LGBTQ+ of Durham. I love that they support the community. Also, surprisingly, the washrooms were spectacular and...
