Brunch and bridges- your perfect Saturday morning combination! We are so fortunate to have so many historical structures in Parke County, but their upkeep requires specific care. Thankfully @Parke County, Indiana’s charitable trust can provide for the needs of most of these structures. To continue supporting the trust they host their Dine on a Covered Bridge series where guests experience gourmet meals while enjoying time on one of our bridges that is no longer open to traffic. Tickets are still available for the dinner event on August, which is an upscale version of the brunch event complete with a multi course meal, bar service, and live music. It is an event you won’t want to miss! #parkecountyindiana #shoplocal #eastlocal# @parkecounty

This bridge is one of the older covered bridges. It was built in 1873. This is one of the longer covered bridges we saw. It has windows on both sides overlooking the Big Racoon Creek.

Very beautiful but I wish they could have kept up the bridges one of them you couldn't go in because it was old and rotted they need to make signs clearer to the places that was a task and a half trying to figure out where to go and no GPS because there's not many towers out there so be prepared take a nap if you go the covered bridge festival has gone downhill not as many vendors I was disappointed this year I went years ago probably about 10 years ago and they had wall to wall vendors most vendors were stuff that you didn't make a lot of it kind of disappointed in that area they need signs saying where to go to get to these places wasted sometime trying to drive where we wanted to go couldn't find things especially when the GPS was down don't forget to take...

A single-span Burr Arch Truss covered bridge, the Mecca Covered Bridge spans the Big Raccoon Creek near Mecca Indiana. It is 176 feet long with a width of 17 feet. 12.5 feet of clearance which means that my Sprinter van would fit but the bridge is now closed to vehicular traffic. Pedestrians are welcome.

Completed in 1873, the bridge is still in excellent condition. Indiana has quite a few covered bridges and I'm looking forward to seeing many on this trip!

There is parking nearby on both sides. A boring concrete bridge now carries...

A good 'ol stable covered bridge. Is nice scenery. When we went there the river was pretty full. You cannot drive through this one, but it does allow for foot travel. Nice view of the river from the window in the center of the bridge. The reason I'm giving it a four star rating is because there is a lot of...
