Horrible experience!!! I have never written a negative review, but this experience warrants one...
We have been visiting EdenVale Winery, bringing our friends, and recommending others, -along with many others in the area- over the past several years and have never paid a tasting fee, as we always buy wine while we're there. The last time we visited, we bought almost a case of wine and were still charged $20 for our tasting! When we were surprised by the fee and explained that we had never been charged one in the past, the tasting room hostess (who was new at the time) went to talk with her manager about it, however, she had already left for the day. While she was gone, another employee had come to the end of the counter to make a phone call and had overheard me telling my fiancĂŠ that it was odd that they were charging us now, after all these visits, a tasting fee (of $20!!!) especially since we were buying the amount of wine that we were. The gal holding the phone interrupts me by saying (in a VERY snotty and condescending tone), that most wineries charge tasting fees in this area, and "that's just how it is here!" I explained, even though I wasn't talking to her in the first place, that we frequent wineries in this area, including EdenVale, and have never been charged a $20 tasting fee because we purchase as much wine as we do. She shoots back with, "well someone's just not doing their job then!"
First of all, this isn't our first wine tasting experience in the area...we've been to just about all of them, as we frequently explore the wineries and their new releases. Yes, some charge tasting fees, but NOT when their guests buy the wine. We've lived in the Napa area too, and know how all this works. We understand the reasoning of charging tasting fees at certain wineries. As it was, the $20 "tasting fee" wasn't the issue (as we understood that the tasting room hostess was new)...it was the snarky way the gal who walked up front talked to us! Even though we were the only ones in the tasting room, it made us feel unimportant and as though our support of the winery unappreciated. She was very rude. And we weren't even addressing her. I sent several emails to the owner/manager requesting contact so that I could tell her about the way the gal standing at the counter holding the phone talked to us and made us feel...but we never even got a response! That's just BAD business! And after that, we should not have taken the wine we were buying after all, not only because of the principal of how we were treated, but because when we opened it, it was "turning" and tasted horrible. We had to dump most of it out!
We won't be back to the winery, recommending winery visits, or buying their wine...
Read moreI absolutely loved EdenVale! I actually came to visit Medford because I was born on Motherâs Day and my mom passed away on Motherâs Day a couple of years ago abd I visit her cemetery each year from Southern California.
My boyfriend wanted to take my mind off of my mom and spend some time celebrating my birthday so we checked to see where the nearest winery was.
I was shocked that there was one so close and didnât know what to expect.
This place is beautiful, small, unique, and a hidden gem. We had some great wine and let me just say that their charcuterie board is on point!
We had been traveling abs so busy that once we got here, we instantly calmed down and enjoyed the view of the vines, the beautiful green mountains, and sun.
Our homie Taja was an incredible host and did everything she could to get my candle lit on my birthday brownie lit and made my day â¤ď¸ Thank you girl!

Read moreGreat experience at this winery! The indoor tasting area is intimate, with a bar area with only five seats, but the service was great and the wines were enjoyable. We bought a bottle of the CranPerry cider because we liked it so much, and all of the reds were fragrant and flavorful. We also got to sample the warm mulled wine, which was especially delicious on this rainy day! We ordered a few food items: hummus plate, charcuterie plate, and the artichoke dip. The artichoke dip was the standout, hot and cheesy goodness. The other plates were tasty as well, though the pickles were over-vinegared, and I love pickles. I would definitely come back here, especially to enjoy their wines and admire the views on a pretty day! Thanks for a...
