520 Bridge View Park — Attraction in Medina

Great place to watch a sunset, well-maintained, nicely lit at night, a few covered places to sit if it rains. This park is next to a park-and-ride parking lot, a bus station, a nature preserve, and a bicycling/walking trail. The trail goes further east or west across the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge. The bus station has stairs and elevators down to bus stops on each side of the freeway. On the south side of the park is a paved trail to a lower viewing area with an information placard. Nice place to stop and take a breather after climbing the 520 bridge. View is not bad, fun to watch the vehicles go by. The area is well kept, clean, and tidy. It desperately needs a bathroom, though. Maybe drinking fountain too. And people smoke here! With the constant breeze, the smoke gets blown around and chokes everyone when they're trying to catch their breath. Not cool. If no smoking is allowed, this place needs...

The park itself is not really the point. It is nice and convenient, but the real point is that is launch point for a walk or ride across the 520 bridge,which has epic views and is well worth it. Traffic noise is intense, so be warned, but the view of the lake is magnificent. You can't see much from the park, but the perspective directly across the span...
