Reagan Park is a decent park but doesn't quite measure up to some of the others in the area for hiking and, to a lesser extent, mountain biking. Huffman Park (which is 2 minutes away) will get you deeper into the woods and connecting more with nature, in my opinion.
To be fair, the trail systems of the two parks are interconnected, so you could say they're more or less the same, but the Reagan side has scruffier woods and loops around a number of sports fields that simply make it less engrossing to start off in. From a mountain biking standpoint, the trail is also considerably rougher, which can be a plus or minus depending on whether you like that kind of trail. Read moreNicely kept grounds and ball fields. Very big area that I would imagine is hard to keep up. We have been to field # 6 for youth baseball and see many other families looking for shade from the relentless sun while sitting for over 2 hours per game. The small aluminum stands are great but I see most fans go the folding chair and umbrella route while watching children and grandchildren play. No place to cool off except a walk back up to the car for some AC and probably miss Lil Johnys big play...

The skate park is a little bit trashed and since it's made out of wood a lot of it is rotting and there's some mild death traps in some areas but it has potential. Mainly it's just an older park and needs a little bit more work on it and the skate park can be updated but overall it's got a decent...
