Melrose Common — Attraction in Melrose

The Melrose Common park is one of the jewels of Melrose. I walk my dog there a couple of times a day. For many years I walked/ jogged around the common in early morning. Loved seeing the sun rise over the trees. The common is well kept by the Park Department crew. The kids playground is large and always active. The baseball/softball area is well maintained. The Common Market is great and they carry a large selection of Richardson's ice Cream. Grateful to have the Common within walking distance. The number of barrels around the park are also bonus for dog walkers. It's also comforting to have a Fire Station there with all the children and activities...

I love Melrose Common! It's got something for everyone. A playground for the small kiddos, another area for the big kiddos, sports fields for the biggest kiddos and a large area for learning to ride a bike with a bunch of free trikes, balance bikes, scooters and bikes. There is an ice cream and convenience store at one corner (common market) and a fire station in the middle where the kiddos can see fire trucks being washed often. Grew up going to this park with my younger sis, brought my fiance here and we swung on the swings, it's very lovely for how much they updated it! They have two little parks one for the kids and one for the older kids and they have a are where you can drive in a little tykes car and scooters, then you have the baseball field where sometimes their girls softball games going on, who will win?...
