Wrote corporate Nero a few weeks ago and never heard a response.
My wife and I decided to try the Melrose location on Sunday, September 25, around 11:40am after noticing the nice interior and outdoor drinking space. We normally would visit our typical establishment across the street, but decided today was the day to try out Caffe Nero.
The gentleman who helped us was approximately middle aged with a peppered pony tail and lacked customer service. Several comments and mannerisms he made were unprofessional and his last comment resulted in us canceling the order and just leaving.
Firstly, we asked about latte sizes, he replied with, "We have sizes just like everyone else." Secondly, he said in a condescending tone, "What's your problem with foam?" Thirdly, when I asked once again for no foam in my latte,he replied with, "Have you ever had a latte before? They all come with foam." This comment prompted us to cancel our order and leave. I've had plenty of lattes from a place across the street and they always make it with no foam without hesitation, questions, or insults.
This was my first experience at a Caffe Nero and I cannot express my disappointment with the unprofessional demeanor and comments made by one of...
Read moreI've been here multiple times, and each time the staff give off a vibe of "temporarily embarrassed theatre stars" whose time and attention you haven't quite earned. This review was finally prompted by ordering a seasonal "spiced eggnog latte" which I was told was discontinued. Weird, considering the gigantic poster for it I'm still looking at on the wall. I was meeting my girlfriend, and when I sat down, she was drinking the exact drink I asked for. When I asked the girl at the counter about it saying "did you just discontinue it within the past hour? because my GF is drinking it right now" she then checked the fridge and found eggnog and said "oh, they were supposed to get rid of this." So either she told me something was unavailable when it actually was, or the other workers sold my GF expired eggnog. Every time we get coffee here it's one thing or another. Last time, it was a homeless black guy whooping and hollering in the dining area and the staff just ignored him like it wasn't happening. He was running in and out of the building, jumping on the decorative fixtures and not a single employee approached him to ask him to leave.
edit: my GF wanted me to add that the ladies bathrooms are always disgusting when...
Read moreIts located right on a busy main street with a nice big municipal parking lot in the back that provides access on both sides.
The seating area is quite spacious and comfy and they are really generous with the tables unlike Starbucks across the street that is smaller and definitely more crowded. I'm a huge fan of this place and been coming here regularly for work as the local library is closed due to relocation. Their drink prices are pretty fair and delicious I usually get Ice Tea or lemonade. Their breakfast sandwich is amazing as well as I have tried it a few times.
Wifi is quite fast here and I especially enjoy the outdoor seating are they have where the music is quieter for a good conversation on the phone. Overall I'm very happy with this particular location and have become quite the regular patron of the chain. Highly recommended if you're in the area looking for a nice place to relax and talk or...
