Sibley Historic Site — Attraction in Mendota

Very good tour, and interesting history. We are new to Minnesota, and this seemed like a good 'first stop' on the history highway. We found that the history detailed in the tour was very honest, open, sensitive. We also were intrigued by the architecture, and the overall grounds. Great place to visit if you are interested in Minnesota and the history of this part of the Mississippi River. Toured here recently. The MN Historical Society does a most excellent 1 hr. tour here that really explains local early settlement history and the fur trade. Also captures well the relationships with the indigenous settlers and their unique cultures and history. Highly recommend! ...
