This is my favorite place to hike in the Twin Cities. It’s pretty much in the middle of the city but you wouldn’t know it. It’s quiet but not too quiet, so you won’t feel too alone. A loop around the island takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. It’s more of a walk in the woods than an intense hike. Pike Island is great year-round. Large trees provide shade in the hotter months.
