Lake Menomin — Attraction in Menomonie

Most often before the month of August the water is clear. After August there is usually alot of alge and unpleasant odor from it. Fishing is good early spring and winter as well. If your hungry or thirsty just dock at the Waterfront Bar and Grill or walk in from the street entrance. There is outside seating as well as inside seating. The fish fry is delicious one of my favorite local fish fries. There can be a long wait after 5:00 pm and it can be noisy but I don't mind. They have a good choice of other food options and try the wings too...

Beautiful town but a disgusting lake. People and pets are getting sick from coming in contact with the water. Why they don't do something to rid the water of its green slime is beyond me. The tourism dollars that lake could generate would be phenomenal. I'm not sure who is to blame for the pond scum but overuse of fertilizers in the soil is most likely the culprit.
