A large park with many different features and a great historical significance for Menomonie. Most of the original Wakanda park is out under water from the beach, destroyed by the Menomonie hometown leadership for the purpose of a larger lake and deeper lake that would draw tourists and dollars. From the high mounds on the south end, while most were lost from the lake level raising, other remnants of the old park might still be found today. Nearby other things of interest, the waterpark, the Lions Club game park, many baseball fields, and the elementary school that sits on the site of an old drive-in movie theater, as well as the Dunn County historical society, all add to the large expansive recreational treasure of Wakanda park. Vehicle traffic speed has diminished the enjoyment of the park.

This is the park my family used to go to when I was younger. My Father's side of the family came from Menominie and we would often meet relatives here for a picnic. In fact I'm pretty sure there a pics of my Father when he was younger, at this same park. I love to come here and just sit down by the lake.

Love Wakanda Park! So many activities to do when visiting from hiking, biking, swimming, and enjoying various forms of entertainment. My family enjoys the fireworks every year for the 4th of July!

Boring okay so yes up the hill from lake they do have a decent playground for kidos, but from what I've heard they used to also have a beach in which is no longer a beach not only does this lake stink ppl appear afraid to touch the water anymore so yeah not much of a park o they do have bathrooms most likely only available durning summer time also tables and some have pavilion and there is a boat landing i do believe as well as an inside pavilion like building for party's for u to reserve in interested for a fee. And I've also seen Frisbee golf I think they Called it that ppl play around the park area and many ppl like Takin walks around there too. Maybe a band or 2 during summer months down by lake area for entertainment. Such as 4th of July!!! And of course 🎆fireworks....

I lived a terrific part of my youth in Menomonie. The lake and beach were a big part of our life. This was in the ‘60s when the water had a green tint but outside of a couple of days late in the summer it was a great place to swim, boat and fish. Lake Menomon shares the same problem with many lakes in WI. Farm runoff gives the algae the nutrients it...
