Boots, Brews, and Bliss: A Night of Dancing at The Love Shack Pop Up Bar!
Hello, fellow dancers!
Are you on the lookout for a new venue or one that's closer for your dancing adventures? Last night, we had an absolute blast at the Brookdale Farms event, “The Love Shack” Pop Up Bar at the Silo Point section of the farm, located just outside Eureka, MO. The big expanse of land looked stunning under the night sky!
Navigating to the right area took us a bit of time; we initially ended up at the Main Entrance, where the lovely light display is. After a quick U-turn, we made our way to the Silo area, about a quarter mile down the road. We spotted the Silo Point sign and noticed the distinctive building and silos out front. The parking area is mostly gravel and has plenty of spaces. Even with many vehicles in the lot, we had no trouble finding a spot. There were a few wet patches from the melting snow and recent rain, but it wasn't muddy.
As I shared in one of my live videos on Friends of Country Music and Dance Halls, the venue is quite spacious. Walking through the double doors, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff and management were wonderful, making everyone feel welcome at the dance party. There were numerous tables and plenty of seating available, along with a well-stocked bar staffed by bartenders dressed to impress in cowgirl attire. They offer free ice water and a variety of beverages, although I would have preferred something other than Pepsi—they won’t lose me over that!
The menu featured delicious options like boneless wings, flatbread pizzas, and my favorite, pretzel bites. For dessert, we indulged in chocolate-covered strawberries. The dance floor, made of sealed concrete, was perfect for dancing, allowing for smooth movements without damaging our boots. I’d estimate it was between 900 and 1,200 square feet of dance space, with a few slick spots and some that were a bit sticky. Overall, it was a fantastic place for line dancing, two-stepping, or swinging!
Typically, Tuesday nights are for line dancing with a DJ and dance lessons, but last night was a delightful after-Valentine's Day celebration. There’s talk of possibly adding line dance nights once a month on Fridays, and I hope they consider Saturdays too, especially since other large venues in the St. Louis area already host line dance events on Fridays. Regardless of their schedule, we’re definitely making our way back for more dancing!
I hope you all enjoy the photos from last night's festivities. Read moreWords cannot express how grateful my husband and I are that we chose Silo Point at Brookdale Farms for our big day. Coming out of a wedding you expect to have lots of reflection on how things turned out and I can honestly say because of Danyelle Kampen, her team, and the venue as a whole, I have not one regret or "I wish __". The venue was incredible, from top to bottom. The bar, the staff, the food, the view, the ceremony set-up, the reception set-up, the bridal suite, the coordination stress she takes off your shoulders, all the things big and small, were to a T the vision I had when I thought about what I wanted my wedding to be and look like. The team perfectly caters to your every whim, question, or idea. I would HIGHLY recommend you use their personal decorating service, Blushing Lilies. I created a Look Book, met with Danyelle, and my dream had come to life when I walked into the venue on wedding day. Our entire two-year engagement and working with Danyelle once we decided Silo Point was it, was easy and flawless thanks to Brookdale Farms. I would recommend to anyone that will listen, you will not regret choosing this venue. I am in awe as to how perfectly my day went and it is all thanks to Danyelle...
Read moreI really enjoy the atmosphere but was disappointed.
So much potential. “Two Step Tuesday” is extremely misleading. Despite the name, there’s no actual two-stepping happening. They named it that way because it was catchy to them. It’s like going to a Taco Tuesday and finding out there are no tacos—just frustrating and confusing. What’s even more disappointing is that the venue has the space to accommodate dancing, but the tables aren’t moved, so it ends up feeling cramped and disorganized. There's literally no room to dance, and no one’s two-stepping because there’s no space to do so.
I’m giving a low rating because of the false advertising. If you're going to promote a dance night, there should at least be space and an effort to make dancing possible. Otherwise, call it a line...
