Hartrick Park is a great place for a day with the family. Decent size play ground for kids, a couple baseball fields, a large open area for soccer, ultimate frisbee, football, or a blanket picnic. The restrooms are modernized and maintained. There a several trails to take short hikes and still be able to see the kids if they run ahead and around the corner. The trails are also why I only give 4 out of 5 stairs. They're aren't very long, only tracking about 1.5 miles of you walk all of the color trail markers. Unless there's a lot of foliage then you can see and hear three traffic on Hagadorn road and any student activity from the Okemos High School. So, if you prefer a long nature walk, then Hartrick Park isn't the place for you. You may rather go to North Lake Lansing Park for long, quite, winding trails of several miles. I'm summary: 5 star rating for families and kids, 3 star rating for nature walk enthusiast, averaging a 4 stars rating. Thanks...
Read moreNice park, I have only been there for the purpose of soccer games and practices. However, seeing the rest of the park is quickly evident that it is a great park. The parking was sufficient, the favorites worked as intended and the access to the rest of the city make it a nice park to get away from the hustle and bustle of your day to day. There are some beautiful trees flanking the sides of the park and it is close to Okemos High School. There are a few subdivisions nearby and it has easy access to the park too. The soccer fields were nice, but nothing incredibly special. Overall, it did the job for my...

But look, Google says there's this park about a mile west, let's go there. We noted others there too. Three cars backed in a 'circle' with young people sitting in the back to visit while not getting physically close. We sat in the corner of the lot and watched as dogs were exercised on a ball field, and others were just enjoying a walk. We've often done the same in other Meridian Twp parks. And it's something to be...
