Puzzling Escape Rooms Mesa — Attraction in Mesa

My husband and I love escape rooms so we were super excited for this one. Especially since we have not had a date really in years. We hardly ever get to venture out alone so this was a big deal.

First complaint is that there was a key that was 'supposed' to be in the maze on the wall. This was literally the very first place I looked. After 30 minutes of getting no where, the guy ask if there is a key on the maze on the wall. I said no. He had to come in and check and returned a couple minutes later with a handfulnof keys. He finally found the right one and we mentioned it would have been helpful 30 minutes ago and he said he would add time. He literally added only 5 minutes. So we lost 25 minutes.

This ruined the whole vibe of the experience and we clearly didn't make it out. What is supposed to be achieved in 60 minutes, we only got 30 minutes to do. Paid nearly $100 and not sure for what.

I asked for customer satisfaction and got no where. This is so disheartening. I asked if I could speak with someone and he said he messaged them but they are not good at replying. I said of course. I said so we are out than and wasted our time and money and he just said sorry and shrugged his shoulders. Wow. He could have given us our time back but didn't even do that. My mom scheduled a time for the escape room and we showed up about 15 minutes early. The business was completely closed? No one was there. All the lights were off and all the doors were locked. We were so confused. We walked around upstairs and downstairs and nothing. So we called the google business number and the girl on the phone was laughing (probably nervously but still unprofessional) about how she had no idea why no one was there and she was trying to get someone to go there and open it up for us? I am baffled by not only the unprofessionalism but the fact that the business was closed during the scheduled business hours and still taking bookings online and forcing people to pay in advance. We waited 30 minutes. No one showed up so we left and have been calling several times over the last 24 hours. No one will answer the phone despite the business saying they are open. I’m pretty sure this is just some girls personal cell phone number instead of an actual business and she’s ignoring our calls. We literally just want a refund. It was like $140 for 3 people too. Such a scam. I am reporting to the BBB next.

Our group did the speakeasy room and it was so much fun!! My husband and I do escape rooms pretty frequently and found this room was quite fun and interesting. We went in a group of four and everyone was able to find and solve various puzzles. I loved that no one really ended up getting left out and that we were all able to work together to win! I would say this room is on the easier end but I definitely plan on coming back and trying the other two rooms out soon.
