An absolutely enchanting (and gigantic) place to observe and marvel at nature while enjoying any of a number of outdoor activities.
I walk and jog a lot these days and this is a must see if you're anywhere in the mesquite area. Actually, after visiting, I'd say it's worth the drive even if you're closer to Dallas.
The main entrance is right off the frontage and is easily accessible. You're initially greeted by an expansive parking lot with a welcome center. That bite. A lot of ants and hornets all around the place. Be very cautious and careful if u let the kids play on the playground equipment. A lot of picnic tables are available. I just wouldn't go back to let my toddler play. But it looks nice to jog here. Also careful warning signs of 🐺...
