It’s very disappointing the situation going on with Samuells Farm! I live in the neighborhood right behind the park, a couple of months ago a homeless encampment moved in to the park. Since then my ring camera has captured all sorts of illegal activities going on there. At times you can here the people living there screaming as if they were on drugs or having a mental illness. I have called the authorities several times, as well as my neighbors. I have also contacted Samuells Farm in several occasions so they can be aware and help with the situation. So far nothing has been done to help this matter! I used to enjoy taking my family to the park for a nice walk but now it’s not safe! We have found crack pipes and lots of trash along the trail way that leads from the park to the alley where my driveway is. This park is no longer a safe place to bring your kids or use for recreational purposes! I truly hope that Samuells Farm with the help of the authorities and there park rangers take action soon! I would definitely stay away from this place until Samuells Farm can make it safe again! God forbid anyone gets in any serious danger due to the lack of response from the park and the...
Read moreThis place is so, so cool! Huge, open farm land devoted to Dallas as a park with plenty of space for dogs, children to run around & play. We (German Shepherd & I) regularly come to Samuell Farm to walk a loop of trails that's around 4.2 miles long, or so I've averaged from my Fitbit the 2 trips we've made so far with it on. It's so serene, calm & makes for a great getaway from the hustle, bustle of the city... right off of East Interstate 30 & Belt Line Rd. off the frontage road. Some facilities are closed, run-down, dilapidated & could honestly use a fresh coat of paint and/or some minor cosmetic repairs. Dallas Parks & Recreation should put resources to rejuvenating this incredible place as it has plenty of picnic tables, trash cans & plenty of ponds stocked with fish (caught & released 4 small-medium sized fish). Check Samuell Farms out the next time you go out for...
