I decided to check out Hop Brook Lake for the first time yesterday, and I wasn't disappointed. It was beautiful! I wanted a new and different spot to take my dog for a walk. And, this was definitely a great place to do so. The staff that was there were extremely friendly & helpful. They gave me a map of the park and explained where everything was, and answered any question I had pertaining to the area. There are tons of well kept trails & paths, picnic tables with grills to have cookouts, nice lakes that you can even go fishing at, tons of pet stands that have bags & garbage disposals in them so you can cleanup after your furry friends, restrooms with areas they call shelters where you can stop to regroup, and much, much more. I definitely recommend going here if you're looking for a nice spot to go to - either by yourself, with friends or family, and especially with your dogs. This is a beautiful place to go to when you want to escape from the daily grind & chaotic hustle & bustle that life can be. You can get some alone time, fresh air, and be one with nature. While also having an assortment of activities to do, to make for a memorable experience. It's well worth it - so what are you waiting for...get up & go out there, you...

Read moreBeautiful large park, well maintained, closed too much, poor communication about hours, season changes, swimming/no swimming. Other US Army Corp of En parks communication is better and are open for use more frequently. This park seems to operate like a mom and pop roadside attraction. You just have to show up and hope it's open. And in the off season, all parking is closed except for 20 spots, so it's frustrating to drive there, not knowing if you'll get a spot (there is no way to park along the road near the entrance). No twitter, website is not updated regularly, and FB page is barely active. If you live close by, these are probably not concerns, but in this region of the state, this is the largest and best managed park, where swimming (sometimes) is open to residents of any town or state with no fee and there is a varietyof trails, and rentable pavilions (with very generous...
