This beach is very convenient and family-friendly. There are restrooms and showers nearby, and lifeguards are always on duty, which makes it feel safe. A long and comfortable rubber carpet goes almost all the way to the water, so you can easily get there even with a stroller. There are some food trucks. You can grub snakes there. A great place to relax and enjoy the day by the sea! Minus-the beach don't have a trash bins. So you have to take your garbage home.

5 stars for the açaí please located near by the restrooms. Beach was ok. But the people sometimes can be very rude and run near by you and throw sand everywhere. Restrooms are nasty. Also the beach don’t have a trash can. So you have to take your garbage home.

Amazing beach, lots of hiking and riding paved trails. Warning: if you are out of state , entrance will cost you $15 but it is definitely worth it

Since this is a State Park, don't expect a mile long boardwalk, you want to enjoy the beach and relax you come here, you want boardwalks, ice cream and wrestling with sea gulls go to Point Pleasant.

There are no trash cans, visitors are responsible for cleaning up after themselves and so BRING YOUR OWN TRASH BAG. This being said, the beaches are clean as can be, people respect the rules. This also a huge positive since there are no flying rodents trying to snatch food out of your hands or christening you while conducing flyovers. Facilities are nice and clean and while there aren't any stall, there are a couple of food trucks with reasonable prices. They do have guards who are alert and friendly.

While all NJ beaches charge an entry fee, this place charges $15 fee per car which is a huge bargain, if you are like me, by the season pass... which brings me to one of the negatives, the lots tend to fill up fast; arrive early or be turned around!

Once the lots are full you aren't allowed entry and at that stage the area near the water can get pretty crowded, you can sit further back if you don't want to go in the water, there's plenty of room.

I personally prefer to visit this beach...

Tried D and E on 4 Aug 2022. HOT day yet wind from the south east kept it at 80 degrees with few flying pests. If there's no wind or a wind from the west, DON'T GO. The ocean water is ok. Not as clean as Island Beach state park, but not bad. More waves down south too. Lot's of people but the crowd was cool in general. Culturally, Latins feel that it's ok to play their radios quite loud and to be loud in general. They really need to be more considerate. ¿Por qué no puedes tener consideración por los demás? So, don't plan on a nap. Other than that traffic in NJ is almost always bad, so don't be in a hurry. A few food trucks and various rental stuff. PLEEEZE people, TAKE your garbage, your basura...

Family friendly. Fairly quiet and the patrons are well behaved. Wish the Sea Gulls Nest restaurant would re-open but seems like the owner (lessor) is not willing to upgrade the facility. If you want a relaxed beach day, this is it. If you want the party then head further south to point pleasant or Belmar, Seaside. If you want to get naked...head further out on the Hook to Gunnison. 7 presidents down the street in Long Branch is another option...
