We did a guided..? Tour the second to last weekend in December of 2017. Our tour guide brought us through 3 historic homes and told us that they were decorated for christmas which we were excited to see. We kept getting told to "come back in the spring/fall or any other time" to get a good tour of the homes. We were with about 10 other people confused as to why we weren't getting the "good" tour since we had paid $10 a person to be told "this is a historic room" or "there's a ton of information about this house" but you have to come back to find out. If we were on the (bring you through old homes but not give you any facts or be able to answer any questions accurately) tour they should better advertise that before paying. Very disappointing. Our tour guide was poorly trained on information as well. Loved to see the history but that is all we did, a quick glance through. There were rooms we were also told we could not go into because every other time of the year they give thorough tours but not the one we were on. Wish we knew we had to "come at a different time".

Breathtaking Ceremony at Historic Odessa's Corbit-Sharp House! We chose Historic Odessa's Corbit-Sharp House for our wedding ceremony, and it surpassed our wildest dreams! The picturesque grounds, steeped in history and charm, provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. Megan and Jennifer, were exceptional. Megan guided us through every step through rehearsal and the day of, ensuring a seamless experience. Her attention to detail and kindness were invaluable. When I had a last-minute dress malfunction, Megan appeared with needle and thread, saving the day and then making sure we took a moment to breathe! The historic grounds were immaculately maintained, with stunning gardens and architecture. The ceremony space was breathtaking, with ample room for our guests and beautiful backdrops for photos. If you're seeking a romantic, historic setting for your ceremony, look no further than Historic Odessa's Corbit-Sharp House. They will ensure your day is unforgettable, surrounded by timeless elegance and beauty.

Thurs is a collection of 3 open homes dating from 1700 to 1772, the later being a National Historic Landmark. One is the homes was built and owned by one family since 1772 until it was purchaaed, restored and gifted along with the other two, to Winterthur. Closed in the early 2000's, it was relinquished to the donor and a trust and reopened as The Historic Homes of Odessa. The showpiece is The Corbit Sharp house, a 3 story Philadelphia mansion built in Delaware, but in my opinion the small frame home built between 1688 and 1720 is as charming. Built by someone of means, probably originally a 1 room up and down, the was an addition and center hall added by 1720. It features beautiful paneling and cupboard, and given the time it was built, it was in the middle of nowhere, the owner clearly had something to show off. I believe I know the builder of the first potion and perhaps the second, but cannot prove it. Tours Yes- Sun. Decorated as well as any during Christmas season. All are part of. Christmas in Odessa, the first Saturday of December along with other private homes in this killed town, originally a Dutch outpost in...
