Stratford Woods Park — Attraction in Midland

Been going here for years and years!!! Since I was a little kid. It's definitely getting a little cleaner little by little. Lots of wildlife here for sure. My daughter found some baby snapping turtles and a really big blue crayfish. We put them back but it's so fun to find. We go fishing here a lot and we always catch lots of different kinds of fish. From bass sunfish catfish and so on. There's a dock you can fish off. There's a tail that goes all the way around the pond and lots of spots to walk up to the pond and fish. 🐠 🐟 The beach only takes up about 25% of the pond. Also I can't forget about the dirt bike track. It's there but needs some work. It still works and there was kids there riding on it when I was there the other day. There's also a few volleyball nets away from the beach but still have sand under them so you can play. They do have bathroom's. I didn't use the bathroom this day so I'm not sure what kinda shape they are in at this time. There's I think at least 2 grill's on the beach. There's a few picnic tables by the bathrooms not sure why they are there but they are. They do have a nice little playground at the beach. All around nice little place to go and I never see it to pack...

I haven't swam here yet but it has a lovely sandy beach, a few volleyball courts, a basketball court, and a dirt BMX course. There are a few trails, (I haven't gone on all of them yet) but the area seems well-kept and well attended.

The highway is very close by, so prepare for a not-so-quiet ambience.

I've seen a few people fishing, some playing fetch with their dogs in the water.

There is also a small jungle-gym type thing for younger kids. Plenty of fields for frisbee or football.

The parking lot is enormous, so that shouldn't...

I definitely like it more on quieter calmer days like week days or hours not so popular. Its enjoyable when its not packed, when busy a lot of muck can get kicked up and the water just looks gross. Over all the park is well taken care of, as far as the land. There always seems to be random men just sat somewhere staring at people, every time its nice out. None of these negative issues are the parks fault, just a heads up its not the fanciest beach to go to...
