Juniata Valley Winery — Attraction in Milford Township

Having to postpone our wedding in 2020 brought us to JVW and we could not be more grateful that we wound up here for our wedding this summer. From the moment we found them we were in love with the property, and as we worked through packages and met the staff we only fell more in love with JVW.

We ultimately booked the full weekend package with so many inclusions -- full access to the property Fri-Sunday mornings; the entire B&B Fri-Sun (it housed my entire family and was an incredible place for the bridal party to get ready -- it made great photos too!); all necessary rentals (tables, chairs, linens, china/glassware); 3 ceremony locations and the pavilion (which is indoor OR outdoor based on your preference) for the reception; a coordinator; tickets to their Friday Night Music event; and options for catering, bar packages, and a rehearsal dinner.

The staff was so incredibly kind, accommodating, and flexible. From the very beginning, they addressed all of our COVID-related concerns being a couple that had already postponed once and put us at ease. Even in the months before our wedding, we had some concerns with our original rehearsal dinner location due to the state COVID restrictions and JVW was willing to be on stand-by in case we had to relocate our rehearsal. They made several adjustments to our weekend package purely out of courtesy, as we had previously contracted vendors (e.g. caterers, rentals, a separate ceremony location). Every time we visited the property in preparation for the big day, we were offered complimentary wine tastings -- and we ultimately worked with the coordinator (Molly) and the JVW team to customize a bar menu for our special day.

The innkeeper of the B&B worked closely with us to address a severe allergy for the included breakfasts; provided us refrigerator access for a baby who needed a place to store milk/food; offered the option to add on a lunch for the bridal party the day of the wedding; and allowed us to bring our own snacks/beverages/food as well. We had hired a well-reviewed external coordinator prior to our postponement and even still Molly (the JVW coordinator) was more instrumental in making our day possible and perfect than anyone else. Like the other JVW staff, as a person Molly is kindhearted, caring, and genuine, wanting your wedding dreams to be reality; but as a coordinator she is well-thought-out, proactive, and incredible in absolutely every single way. She worked in close contact with us in person, via video chat, over the phone, email, and text; making herself readily available for frequent walkthroughs and questions even on off-hours at times. On her own she reached out to our caterers and invited them to the property for a walkthrough to ensure they had what they needed. She was our main POC for all of the previously mentioned customizations, fine tuning our details for months leading up to our day. She felt like our cheerleader and we felt comfortable leaving several things to her discretion. Even the day of, Molly was willing to jump in and assist us (and our hired coordinator) with anything we needed. Again, in our opinion, she was the main person who made our day possible and perfect!

As for the property itself, the B&B is comfortable, clean, and makes for awesome photos! The tables and chairs suited our every need and the chivari chairs really elevated the event space -- we had some previously acquired rentals we used but had we not already booked them we wouldn't have needed them! The grapes were in bloom making the vineyard a beautiful backdrop for our reception, as we elected to open the pavilion doors. The pavilion provided a flexible location though as it could be indoor or outdoor based on preference, and was air conditioned when we needed to close the doors for a short time for the heat. Our pictures all turned out amazing!

We cannot express our joy and thanks enough. Compared to other venues in the area that offer all of the same amenities, JVW is the move -- cost is reasonable, property is gorgeous, and staff is superior in every way....

It has been a pleasure working with Molly. She is very organized and thorough, her knowledge and expertise in the wedding business is second to none. She understood the timeline throughout the wedding process and she knew when documents or certain things needed to be done in synchrony.

Throughout the wedding planning portion, she has been very patient and assisted us with all our needs and answered all questions we had.

I wanted to take the time to highlight a couple of amazing experiences we encountered throughout our wedding planning process, which showcases the remarkable services we experienced when working with the JVW staff and Molly.

The first I want to address that on the weekend of our wedding, Molly and her staff had extra beer in stock and provided that to our wedding as an act of good faith and we were very appreciative of this kind gesture.

The second highlight, describes the work ethic and the professionalism we dealt with. The JVW staff exemplified top notch professionalism and offered remarkable services. They helped and assisted when needed; and help dictate the workflow of the wedding. Everything from the golf cart transportation, directing our guest to the parking lot, the bartenders working, the staff putting our guest at ease during the reception, and the chef cooking the morning continental breakfast.

James, was a breath of fresh air to work with. His thoroughness as a host was refreshing and his attention to detail was top notch.

The third highlight I want to address is the feed back we received from our guests and vendors. We heard so many good things from our guest and they were raving about the venue’s top notch wine selections. The wine slushies were a great hit with our guests. We also heard plenty of great things about the upkeep of the venue, the gorgeous location and the surrounding areas close by the venue.

This feedback we got from our guests and vendors is a testament of the amazing character and work ethic showcased by Molly, James, the JVW staff and the people/location of the Juniata Valley surrounding area.

We were honored to be in the presence of your staff and have enjoyed the journey of planning our wedding with you. Although it continued to rain throughout our ceremony, that didn’t stop us from continuing inside and Mr. James and his staff assisted with the perfect transition of the decor from Ceremony/Reception.

We were quite nervous the day of the wedding but James calming, attentive, and direct personality put both myself and my wife’s nerves at ease. We really appreciate all the services offered to us by your staff and want to say on behalf of both of us and all our Guests, “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Whenever we are in town we will make stops to the winery room to say hi and to purchase more of your lovely wines.

What an incredible experience with Juniata Valley Winery. Nothing less than magical. Molly is the manager of the venue and is an incredibly valuable resource. I spent so much time in communication with her in the 2 years leading up to the big day. She responds literally in an instant to all emails - doesn't matter how big or how small the question is she's on it - she's so amazing at her job and really provides peace and reassurance that your day is in good hands. The venue is absolutely incredible. My family and friends stayed on the full property for the weekend - we had rented both the Manor House and the Wilson House. It was fantastic and I can't say enough positive things about this place. My guests had a unique experience getting to stay for the whole weekend and the breakfasts were so yummy and a fun touch - it is a bed and breakfast after all. The property was in full fall mode with pumpkins and mums everywhere really adding to the space and the vibes. It made my wedding more special getting to experience it for a whole weekend surrounded by my closest people. The accommodations are so cool and the property is beautiful. Unfortunately my weekend was rainy and touch and go most of the time as to what the plan was for the ceremony because of course I wanted it outside. Molly was so flexible and in touch with me regularly leading up to the day for a game plan. Although it was stressful it's so worth trusting your vendor team! We had a backup plan and because I had so much space to work with we had a plan A (outside) and plan B (inside) setup so no matter what happened we were good to go and they allowed me to decide last minute. Luckily the rain stopped for the time of the ceremony. But it took so much stress off of us that they were flexible and prepared for any outcome. I left the weekend feeling fulfilled and wishing I could do it all over again! I wouldn't change anything! JVW and Molly made this experience absolute perfection. If you want a truly unique and special wedding then you can't go wrong...
