I had my first experience walking around houghton’s pond in the blue hills reservation the other day. My friend and I kept remarking on what an undiscovered jewel of a place this is. At one point one of the staff walked up to us and asked if we needed help. We were admiring the the architecture of the rest rooms facility. This young man proudly told us that he was the seasonal manager and how happy he has been in that position for four years. He hopes to work his way up in the program. He enthusiastically told us all about the facility and park area. How important it is to keep the park clean and welcoming to people. He continued on with more accolades and proud comments. He was grand. Wish we knew his name. He brought joy to our day.
