Vermilion Gorge Trailhead — Attraction in Minnesota

There are two spots you can start from, either by the Crane Lake entrance making it three miles or you can cut off a good portion of mileage by taking your boat in the bay next to the Pine Point Resort. It could have been such an amazing 3 mile hike—except for the mosquitoes. I have never experienced this many in a single location. And they are enormous. Bring mosquito net hats, bug spray, napalm, whatever you can. I’m not exaggerating.

Steep in some places but a beautiful hike, and worth the trek. The path wasn’t heavily trafficked, but still was maintained well. If you enjoy boating there is actually a small dock that’s very close to the falls. Also, they had a convenient bathroom (uncovered, but hidden well in the trees, bring your wipes) on the path which is always appreciated. I really loved doing some climbing on the...
